Reflexis Announces Selection by Barnes & Noble of RetailAction Application
NRF Annual Convention 2007
DEDHAM, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–January 15,2007–Reflexis Systems, the pioneer and leader in next-generation Retail Execution Management, announced today that Barnes & Noble (NYSE: BKS) has selected Reflexis’ RetailAction application to manage tasks and execute retail strategy consistently in all 801 Barnes & Noble stores in its chain. The solution will enable Barnes & Noble to streamline communication, understand workload, clarify priorities and maintain outstanding levels of customer service throughout the 50 states in which it does business. The implementation represents an important element in the world’s largest bookseller’s ongoing commitment to successfully execute retail strategy.
The Reflexis implementation will involve incorporating the web-based Reflexis suite onto the Barnes & Noble Store Portal. The Reflexis product has proven itself at other retailers to begin showing dramatic savings and operational improvements immediately upon installation.
The selection process included collecting a significant amount of feedback from Reflexis customers, in addition to on-site demonstrations at one of Reflexis’ largest customers.
Murtaza Ghadyali, Vice President of Product Management for Reflexis Systems, believes that Barnes & Noble has taken the right step in a direction to streamline communication and improve visibility. “As retail chains get large,” said Ghadyali, “there are multiple projects running at any given time, which leads to work overload for store associates and store managers. With our product in place, management at the headquarters can easily see which stores are burdened with too many tasks and can make adjustments accordingly. Our deployment methodology moves retailers from contract signing to realizing these benefits very quickly.”
The Reflexis suite features RetailAction Manager™ for delivering closed-loop task management, RetailAction KPI Activator™ for leveraging real-time, exception-based metrics and triggering best-practice actions, RetailAction StoreWalk® for ensuring consistency from enhanced storewalks and audits, and RetailAction LaborScheduler™ for optimizing labor schedules via bottom-up, task-driven labor forecasting. All RetailAction solutions are web-based and feature one, unified, easy-to-use interface. The suite also integrates rapidly with existing retail systems and is supported by the highly responsive support that customers have come to expect from Reflexis.
Reflexis counts among its customers the world’s largest office supply retailer, the world’s largest home improvement retailer, the world’s largest auto supply chain, and many other category-leading retailers. Reflexis customers are reporting that the additional time their store managers can now spend on customer-related needs is creating top-line results. One Fortune 500 Reflexis customer has reported as much as a 5 percent increase in average sales ticket since implementing the solution.
