Cumberland Farms is a regional chain of convenience stores operating 600 retail locations and gas stations. It prides itself on outstanding food service and coffee, delivered efficiently to the customer. To consistently share and execute tasks and measure performance, the chain adopted the Reflexis Real-Time Task Manager™ solution.

With more than 5,000 employees working out of their stores in eight states, Cumberland Farms needed a single retail store execution and workforce management platform. Managers received corporate-generated store projects via multiple communication channels—voicemail, email, text messages, and more. It was difficult for store managers to prioritize and share these tasks with their employees, explains Charles Jarrett, Senior Vice President and CIO at Cumberland Farms.

To streamline task management communication and execution processes, the company implemented Reflexis. The system is now the “de facto standard for communicating tasks down to the stores,” says Jarrett. “With Task Manager, they have very specific lists of to-dos—they’re prioritized and it’s clear what the expectations are.” He explains: “Task Manager simplifies the life of store managers. They’re able to focus on the most important things that provide our guests the best service.”

Store managers save time and can easily see what retail tasks are completed—and which ones aren’t. And corporate managers have a direct line of sight into store activities. They can analyze performance, execution quality, and speed, ensuring that guests enjoy a consistent store experience.
