Reflexis Customer, Hannaford, Wins RIS News 2008 Supermarket Leadership Award

Supermarket chain recognized for leadership in Supply Chain Excellence; implemented Reflexis Task Manager in distribution center to enhance visibility, improve operational efficiency, and boost quality, safety, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

DEDHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Reflexis Systems Inc. today announced that its customer Hannaford Supermarkets has received the prestigious 2008 Supermarket Leadership Award in the category of Supply Chain Excellence. The leadership awards recognize supermarket operators who have combined outstanding business achievement with best-in-class IT execution. The editors and editorial advisory board of RIS News selected Hannaford for supply chain achievements made possible by implementing Reflexis Task Manager™ in its distribution center. Hannaford, which has also implemented Reflexis solutions to improve execution of its retail strategy in its stores, operates more than 160 supermarkets in New York and New England.

“Hannaford IT and operations teams are among the best in retailing, and are consistently among the elite leaders in the industry that point the way for others to follow,” said Joe Skorupa, Group Editor-in-Chief, RIS News. “For this year’s Supply Chain Excellence award, Hannaford is cited for use of an advanced execution management system in its distribution center to improve visibility and operational efficiency.”

“The Reflexis solution enables improved collaboration between merchandising and the distribution center and better execution of activities that drive increased sales, such as new product introductions,” said Kevin Carleton, Director of Retail Automation for Hannaford. “Enhanced visibility into store delivery status enables faster response to schedule changes and late trucks. Additionally, Hannaford can now monitor compliance levels related to safety, quality control, Sarbanes-Oxley, and new employee orientation procedures. When exceptions are detected, the system can automatically assign corrective action based on best practices embedded in the system. We look forward to working with Reflexis to expand our use of their solutions, both in our stores and in our supply chain, to further improve productivity and our ability to provide a great supermarket shopping experience for our customers.”

“For the fourth year in a row, a Reflexis customer has been recognized for its implementation of our solutions to achieve its business goals,” said Prashanth Palakurthi, CEO and founder of Reflexis. “The 2008 Supermarket Leadership award is further confirmation of our ability to implement solutions that enable our retail customers to flawlessly execute their strategy, whether in their stores or supply chain operations. Hannaford was already using Reflexis Task Manager and StoreWalk™ to improve execution and increase sales in its stores. The company also recently implemented Reflexis KPI Activator™ to automatically communicate store-specific financial performance and operations measurements to store leadership and generate best practice action plans when metrics-related opportunities are identified. We are extremely gratified for the recognition by the team at RIS News and look forward to driving further operational gains for Hannaford.”
